Shanghai maker of large-format pellet 3D printers, five-axis hybrid additive-subtractive machines and robot-arm AM cells, used for printed bridges and molds.
CoIn Robotics (Shanghai Kuying Robot Technology Co., Ltd.; brand Kuying) is a Shanghai company that develops ultra-large-format non-metal 3D printing equipment and complete additive manufacturing solutions. It is based in the 3D printing creative park in Baoshan District, Shanghai, at Room 121, Building 3, No. 6 Yunchuan Road, and was established in 2018 with registered capital of RMB 10 million according to Tianyancha data cited by Jinrongjie. The company also trades as Shanghai Kuying Technology Co., Ltd., the name used on its website header and in trade-press interviews.
Origins. Founder and CEO Zhang Yu told TCT Asia that the founding team previously worked at the Shanghai research institute of Shenyang Machine Tool on CNC machine tools and CNC systems, covering mechanical, electrical and robot control engineering, and later added a materials team. A 3D-printed landscape bridge project with Shanghai Construction Group was the trigger for setting up the company. Zhang describes CoIn as a robotics company that supplies automated production solutions, with combined additive and subtractive manufacturing as its core process route.
Technology. CoIn develops its own large-scale 3D printing machines, high-flow extruders, control systems, printing materials and slicing software. Its machines use fused granular fabrication (FGF) with thermoplastic pellets such as ABS-GF, PC-GF, PC-CF, PEI-GF and PPS-CF, and combine printing with five-axis CNC milling on the same machine. Three product families are offered:
Applications. In construction and landscape work the company says it has built 3D-printed footbridges in Shanghai and Quanzhou, Fujian, with a larger bridge for Yima River Park in Chengdu nearing completion at the time of the interview, and it prints free-form formwork for concrete. In August 2022 Shanghai Kuying Robot Technology Co., Ltd., with the landscape institute of China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute as joint unit, was named for the 'component 3D printing' scenario in the national list of typical robot application scenarios issued by the general offices of MIIT and three other national agencies. A second major line is large composite tooling: printed PEI moulds rated to 180 degrees C and 6 atmospheres for vacuum-bag and autoclave moulding, used for UAV airframes, aircraft skins and automotive parts, with a joint-venture composite mould plant in Jiaxing. The company also works with automotive start-up XEV on printed interior and exterior parts and prototype vehicles, and has early-stage medical projects. At the time of the interview construction and composite moulds each made up about 40% of business. A BGAM-H1003 hybrid machine has been delivered to a customer in Shandong.
Intellectual property. Jinrongjie reported in February 2025 that the company had 61 patent records and 48 trademark records, including granted patent CN110962338B for a fused deposition modelling 3D printing device.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Pellet-fed FGF printing plus five-axis CNC milling in one machine for large thermoplastic composite parts, bridges, landscape elements and moulds.
Industrial robot arm with CoIn pellet extruder for large-format printing; P300E version designed for flexible deployment.
Smaller high-speed pellet-fed 3D printer in the CoIn range for faster production of mid-size parts.
