BFR Systems builds turnkey process-to-packaging food lines in France, with a robotics team delivering cobot palletizing cells and pastry robot lines.
BFR Systems is the design and engineering business unit of the French BFR Group, which traces its origins to 1954 and is headquartered at 24 rue du Bois Chaland in Lisses, south of Paris. The company supplies complete lines from processing to packaging for food manufacturers worldwide, covering process, cutting, conveying, handling, packaging and control equipment. Its markets include snacking and ready meals, sandwiches, cheese, biscuits, and bakery, pastry and viennoiserie, as well as pet food, parapharmacy, cosmetics and household products.
The group was built from several equipment makers: Lassoudry (1959), EuroCRI (1982), Latinpack (1984), AMC2 (1993), Technibiscuit (2000) and Ermatec (2001). The BFR group was formed in 2010, EuroCRI and Ermatec merged into BFR Systems in 2015, Technibiscuit joined in 2018, all sites adopted the BFR Systems name in 2019, a North American agency opened in Chicago in 2022 and AMC2 joined in 2025. Besides the Lisses headquarters, the company lists an agency in Crac'h (Brittany) and sites in Valencia (Spain), Chicago and Naas (Ireland). It reports more than 1,500 customers worldwide, 5,000 complete installed systems and about 200 employees on five sites in France, with a design office of more than 30 people and annual R&D spending of 10-15% of revenue. Omori of Japan is a partner.
The company has a dedicated robotics department whose robotics and automation specialists design custom solutions, including robot lines for mini pastries and robots for loading packaging machines. In a 2025 case study for Cerelia, an industrial bread and fresh pastry maker, BFR Systems supplied a fenceless stainless-steel cobot palletizing cell for open crates that cannot be handled by suction plates. Its R&D team developed a multi-format gripper for the application, and the compact, movable cell can serve several production lines and is available in a version for high-pressure washdown.
