"Make Agriculture, Solar and Technology Work Together"
Israeli startup founded in 2022 building A2PV, an autonomous operating system that runs robots and controllable solar panels on agrivoltaic farms.
agRE.tech is an Israeli agritech startup developing software and robotics infrastructure for agrivoltaic farms, where crops grow beneath solar panels. It was founded in 2022. The co-founder and CEO is Elad Levy, previously a co-founder of the military robotics company Roboteam. Yaniv Marmur is CTO, Kalman Kaufman is chairman, and Menashe Shalom and Hagai Avimor are board members.
The core product is the A2PV Operating System Infrastructure, a patent-pending system for autonomous agrivoltaic robotic farms. It combines robots, manipulators, sensors, controllable photovoltaic panels and AI. The system monitors and cleans solar panels, collects agronomic data, and performs selective spraying, pruning and harvesting. The companion agRE.os software uses AI to analyse field data and produce recommendations. The system is designed to raise renewable energy output and crop yields on the same land while reducing labour costs.
In July 2024 Israeli business media reported a pre-seed round of about USD 2 million from Zemach (Zemach Regional Industries) and the French utility EDF. At that time the company was running a half-dunam vineyard pilot in northern Israel and looking for a 100-dunam site to test the full system. Partners and customers include Zemach, Kinneret Innovation, KKL-JNF, EDF Renewables, ESIL and Tulip Winery. Technology partners include Fanuc, ABB Robotics, Robo-Team, Fermata, Metreel, RAZ Sprayers and Robotic Perception.
