Ondas has inaugurated a new training, testing, and flight operations facility in Springfield, Ohio, aimed at enhancing its defense drone capabilities. This site, part of the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence, will serve as the Midwest hub for Ondas Sentinel, the company's autonomous defense division, which now includes DZYNE Technologies following its acquisition in July.
The facility will focus on operator training, mission planning, and live flight operations for Ondas' long-endurance drone, ULTRA, developed through an Air Force Research Laboratory rapid development program. Its strategic location near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the Ohio Air National Guard’s 178th Wing positions Ondas to collaborate closely with key military organizations, enhancing operational readiness and customer engagement with its drone technology.
Looking ahead, Ondas aims to establish this facility as a long-term training and operational base to meet the increasing demand for autonomous defense drones. No further timeline was disclosed at the time of publication.
