Shanghai maker, founded 2019, of 20-DOF direct-drive dexterous hands, in-house high-torque-density motors and a 526-point tactile data glove.
WUJI TECH (Shanghai Wuji Technology Co., Ltd.) is a Chinese maker of dexterous robot hands, high-torque-density motors and data-acquisition gloves for humanoid robots and general-purpose manipulation. The company was registered on 15 March 2019 in Jiading District, Shanghai. Its founder, chairman and legal representative is Pan Yunzhe, a 2018 graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a double degree in computer science and chemistry. The company says it develops motors, gearboxes and controllers in-house.
WUJI started with motor and reducer research. Its first product line, sold under the Pan Motor brand, is the F-series of high-torque-density motors for robots, which the company specifies at 8 Nm peak torque for a 200 g motor. It then moved into dexterous hands. The Wuji Hand, unveiled on 17 September 2025, has 20 active degrees of freedom with a 1:1 human-hand form. Published specifications include a skeleton weight under 600 g, 15 N fingertip force, 10 kg static grasp load, 201 x 75 x 50 mm dimensions, USB 2.0 communication, FOC vector-control drives, ±1 mm positioning and a rated life of at least 300,000 cycles.
The Wuji Hand 2 keeps 20 active degrees of freedom with full thumb opposition and lateral finger movement. It uses back-drivable direct-drive rotary joints with fingertip multi-axis force/torque sensing. Its specifications are about 180 x 80 x 40 mm, 1000 Hz control on all 20 axes, MIT-style force-position hybrid control, 100BASE-T Ethernet, fingertip peak force of at least 12 N, open/close speed of at least 4 cycles per second, joint backlash under 1 degree, a 0 mm minimum grasp diameter and a 12 V DC supply.
The Wuji Glove is a data glove for robot teleoperation and hand-motion capture. It has a 24 x 31 pressure matrix with 526 active tactile points, 120 FPS tactile and EMF output, 0-20 N pressure range, 0.1 pressure resolution, 4 mm spatial resolution, an 800 Hz IMU, motion-to-data latency of 10 ms or less, and weighs 67.5 g. It connects over 100BASE-TX (RJ45 via adapter) and is powered by USB-C (5 V / 1 A). The developer stack includes Python and C SDKs, the Wuji CLI for calibration, diagnostics and firmware updates, hand retargeting from 21 hand keypoints, and robot description files in URDF, MJCF, USD and STEP, all published on GitHub and docs.wuji.tech.
Financing rounds comprise an angel round (August 2023), Pre-A (November 2023), Series A (November 2025), Series A+ (February 2026) and further A+ rounds between March and July 2026. In July 2026 business-registration records added Meituan's Longzhu fund and an Ant Group entity as shareholders. By March 2025 more than 100 staff were working on hand development, and 21 patents are registered to the company. WUJI exhibited at IROS 2026 (booth 336).
