Company Overview

VitroBOT leases glass-cleaning robots to window-cleaning contractors and is developing its own 3D facade-inspection robot. The operating company is VitroBot, Inc., a Delaware corporation; R&D sits with French subsidiary VitroBOT SAS, the site published as VitroBOT France. Founders: CEO Enguerand Chretien; COO Théo Jouanno, his brother, an IRATA-certified rope-access technician; CTO Jean-Philippe Winckler. It says the company started after a rope failure nearly killed Jouanno. Per its blog, the founders joined San Francisco's Founders Inc programme less than six months before April 2026; a prototype of about US$1,000 in parts ran on real glass within 30 days, then a computer-vision system and letters of intent for paid pilots in Europe followed six months later.

Two suction robots, Clean and Clean Pro, work glass and curtain walls at 200 to 300 m² per hour, secured by a self-locking safety line and leased by the month. The company says they run on a proven partner platform but does not name the manufacturer. It claims a two-person robot crew covers 2.5 times as much facade, nobody over the edge.

The inspection robot, built in-house and in development, hangs from three parapet-clamped rooftop cables, uses four rotors to hold the chassis against the facade and carries a 4K wide-lens camera and LiDAR. It scans in 3D, flags 13 defect types and turns findings into a repair quote in VitroBOT Cloud. The technical blog describes a YOLOv8 detector trained on 35,566 annotated images (cracks, spalling, exposed rebar, glass defects), a Livox Mid-360 LiDAR and on-robot inference on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano. The roadmap puts the inspection robot in 2027 and continuous autonomous maintenance from 2028.

Listed backers: NVIDIA Inception, ICD Stuttgart, Nebius, The Quest, Forum Ventures; named partners: window cleaners EcoShine (Luxembourg) and VertiPro (France). No funding amount, founding date or headcount is published.
