Company Overview

TYTAN Technologies GmbH is a Munich-based defence technology company that designs and manufactures autonomous interceptor drones for countering hostile unmanned aircraft. The company was founded in 2023 by Balazs Nagy (Co-Founder and CEO) and Batuhan Yumurtaci (Co-Founder and CTO); according to the CEO, it grew out of a hackathon in Ukraine. It is registered at the Munich Local Court under HRB 287624 with its registered address at Moosacher Strasse 70 in Munich. TYTAN markets its systems as crafted in Europe and battlefield-tested in Ukraine, and keeps its engineering teams in Munich and its supply chain within the EU.

TYTAN's products are low-cost kinetic interceptors intended to rebalance the cost of engagement against cheap attack and reconnaissance drones, specifically NATO Class II threats. The current line consists of two interceptors presented as a layered answer. TI-1 METIS is a high-speed interceptor optimised for low cost per engagement and mass deployment; the structured product data on TYTAN's website lists a maximum speed of 350 km/h, a range of 25 km, a maximum altitude of 5,000 m, a total weight of 6 kg and a 1.1 kg payload with a fragmentation warhead. TI-2 EOS is presented as a long-endurance, extended-range interceptor for deep-area defence that stretches the engagement envelope of existing air-defence layers. Both use ground-radar cueing with autonomous navigation, an AI-powered thermal camera for terminal detection and either direct kinetic impact or a fragmentation warhead. Onboard AI detects, tracks and engages targets in real time, while a single human operator can supervise multiple interceptors and keeps control of the kill chain. Additively manufactured components are used to keep unit cost low and allow rapid replacement and upgrade, and the systems are designed to plug into existing sensor suites, command-and-control systems and other effectors through an open, modular architecture.

The company has built a series of industrial and government partnerships. In September 2025 Germany's federal procurement office BAAINBw agreed with TYTAN to jointly develop a demonstrator for protecting Bundeswehr facilities against unmanned aircraft. In February 2026 TYTAN and KNDS expanded a partnership to develop integrated counter-drone solutions for land systems, building on the integration of TYTAN's kinetic interceptor on KNDS platforms. TYTAN works with DEUTZ and HENSOLDT on scaling production, with a stated aim of ramping up to 3,000 interceptors per month. In June 2026, at the ILA Berlin air show, Mercedes-Benz and TYTAN signed a memorandum of understanding to explore vehicle-based counter-drone and mission platforms based on the G-Class and Sprinter.

In February 2026 TYTAN opened a new Munich headquarters and production facility that combines research, system integration and serial manufacturing under one roof. In the same month it closed a EUR 30 million Series A co-led by Armira and the NATO Innovation Fund, and the company states total funding of EUR 48 million. The team numbers more than 150 people from over 33 nationalities.
