The Raymond Corporation is a material-handling equipment manufacturer headquartered at 22 South Canal Street in Greene, New York. George Raymond Sr. founded the company in 1922 after purchasing a foundry in the village of Greene, and it has grown into a manufacturer of electric forklifts and warehouse automation equipment. Raymond operates as a member of the Toyota Industries family of companies.
The product line spans reach trucks, counterbalanced trucks, swing-reach trucks, order pickers, sideloaders, tow tractors, and electric and hand pallet trucks and stackers, alongside automated guided vehicles, automated storage and retrieval systems, and conveyor equipment for distribution centers and manufacturing plants. The iWAREHOUSE platform provides fleet management, real-time location tracking, operator access control, and telematics across a customer's fleet, and the Integrated Tether System pairs a wireless proximity sensor with automatic truck slow-down. Through the Toyota Automated Logistics group, the automation offering is combined with Bastian Solutions, the warehousing division of Vanderlande, and viastore for larger-scale warehouse automation projects.
Raymond traces the double-faced wooden pallet and the hydraulic hand lift truck to 1939 patents and the first power-driven narrow-aisle truck to 1951. Its equipment serves retail distribution, e-commerce fulfillment, manufacturing, and food and beverage and cold-storage logistics operations.
