Company Overview

The Bot Company is a San Francisco robotics start-up developing a home robot that takes over everyday household chores. Its website states the goal as building a helpful robot for every home, and the team is based in San Francisco. The company was launched in 2024 by Kyle Vogt, Paril Jain and Luke Holoubek. Vogt founded the self-driving car company Cruise and served as its CEO; Jain previously led an AI technology team at Tesla and serves as CTO; Holoubek was a software engineer at Cruise and a technical adviser to Cruise's CTO.

The company has not publicly unveiled its robot. Reuters, cited by The Robot Report in March 2025, reported that it is working on a non-humanoid machine with a mobile base and grippers rather than a legged humanoid, and job postings on its Ashby careers page reference wheel odometry, locomotion and manipulation, consistent with a wheeled mobile manipulator. Job boards describe the team as between 51 and 200 people.

The Bot Company is one of the best-funded home-robot start-ups. It announced a 150 million US dollar launch round led by Nat Friedman, Daniel Gross and Nabeel Hyatt of Spark Capital, with Quiet Capital, Patrick and John Collison, Elad Gil and Fifty Years taking part. In March 2025 Reuters reported a further 150 million US dollar round led by Greenoaks at a valuation of about 2 billion US dollars, which Sacra labels a Series B. In October 2025 Bloomberg reported that the company was in talks to raise about 250 million US dollars at a valuation above 4 billion US dollars; Sacra puts total funding at about 552 million US dollars across three rounds, but the close of the latest round has not been officially announced. The funding is being used for hardware and AI development of the household robot.

Without a released product, the company's public footprint is limited to its website, its hiring and funding reports. It sits in RobotToday's landscape alongside other wheeled household manipulators aimed at tidying and chores. Editors should watch for an official product reveal, which would supply a robot name, form factor, specifications and launch timing for this profile.
