"Allies in innovation"
Danish defence group whose SCANTER radars and OSL C-UAS line detect and track small drones for armed forces, navies, airports and critical sites.
Terma A/S is a Danish defence and security technology group headquartered at Hovmarken 4 in Lystrup, near Aarhus. The company traces its roots to a small mechanical workshop started by the brothers Orla and Svend Aage Jorgensen and was converted into a limited company, Fabrik for Maaleinstrumenter TERMA A/S, in 1949. The majority of the shares are held by the Thomas B. Thrige Foundation, a commercial foundation established in 1933; since June 2024 ATP Long-term Danish Capital has held a minority stake with a board seat. Terma reports more than 2,600 employees worldwide, with Danish sites in Lystrup/Aarhus, Soborg near Copenhagen and Grenaa (Terma Aerostructures A/S), and subsidiaries or offices in the United States (Terma Inc., Atlanta), the Netherlands, Belgium, Indonesia and, since 2025, a fully owned subsidiary in Kyiv, Ukraine. Henriette Hallberg Thygesen is CEO and President, and Carsten Dilling chairs the board.
For fiscal year 2025/26 Terma reported revenue of DKK 3,381 million, order intake of DKK 5,601 million (up 43%) and an order backlog of DKK 6,891 million. The group develops, produces and sustains command and control systems, surveillance and navigation radars, aircraft self-protection and electronic warfare systems, space technology and aerostructures; it is a supplier of composite, metal and electronic parts to the F-35 Lightning II programme.
Counter-UAS is Terma's main robotics-adjacent business. Its drone detection offering is built around the SCANTER 5000 and 6000 series radars, which provide 360-degree surveillance and use an AI classifier to separate small, low-RCS drones from birds and other clutter over land and water. These radars are combined with long-range electro-optical and infrared cameras with AI-assisted recognition, optional RF sensors and third-party sensors, and a drone server that fuses tracks, logs incidents and supports full replay for debriefing. In May 2025 Terma unveiled SCANTER Sphera, a compact, software-defined 3D radar with 360-degree coverage that classifies targets by micro-Doppler signature and kinematics; it can be supplied as a standalone sensor, with Terma's display, or inside a larger C-UAS system for military bases, borders, energy sites, transport hubs and government facilities. The SCANTER 6002 naval radar has been selected for the modernisation of Hellenic Navy MEKO-class frigates, including counter-UAS operations.
In November 2025 Terma acquired the UK-based OSL Group Ltd. and its subsidiaries. OSL Technology has supplied anti-drone systems to Heathrow Airport since 2022, and its capability is now marketed as OSL C-UAS, a Terma company product that fuses radar, RF and EO/IR sensors with command software for coordinated response. In October 2025 Terma announced that Denmark had deployed its integrated counter-UAS solution, combining multiple SCANTER radars and AI-enabled ultra-high-definition EO/IR cameras, across several strategic sites protecting critical infrastructure and military installations. Terma command-and-control systems are also the integration layer for the Danish Army's new very short range air defence capability, which uses XENTA-M5 radars from Weibel Scientific.
Terma does not build uncrewed vehicles itself; its relevance to military robotics is as a supplier of sensors, fusion software and C2 that detect, track and help defeat hostile drones.
