Telefonica Tech is the B2B digital-services division of Spain's Telefonica Group, headquartered in Madrid and formed in November 2019 by combining the group's cybersecurity, cloud, IoT, and data and AI business units into a single company serving enterprise and public-sector clients.
Within its Industry 4.0 practice, Telefonica Tech integrates mobile robotics, computer vision, and private-network connectivity for manufacturing customers. Its offering connects autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to client production environments over private LTE and 5G networks, linking them to enterprise resource planning (ERP) and warehouse management system (WMS) platforms so that material-transport and inspection tasks in hazardous or restricted areas run with continuous connectivity. The company operates a facility called The ThinX to test IoT and big-data applications in industrial settings and has partnered with mobile-robotics manufacturer ASTI Mobile Robotics and the Spanish Mobile Robotics Association on robotics deployments in Spain.
Telefonica Tech reports more than 6,000 professionals working across cybersecurity, cloud, IoT, data, and AI, with operations that extend from Spain into the United Kingdom, Germany, and Latin America as part of the wider Telefonica Group.
