Company Overview

SRC, Inc. is an independent, not-for-profit research and development corporation chartered by the State of New York. It designs and builds radar, electronic warfare (EW) and intelligence systems for the U.S. Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy, the Department of Homeland Security, the intelligence community and allied governments. Syracuse University formed it in 1957 as Syracuse University Research Corporation. It was spun off in the 1970s as Syracuse Research Corporation and took the name SRC, Inc. in 2009. SRC is a 501(c)(3) organization with no stockholders and reinvests its earnings in facilities, equipment, internal R&D and staff.

Corporate headquarters is SRC Building 1, 7502 Round Pond Road, North Syracuse, New York, on a campus of several SRC buildings. The company has about 1,500 employees and U.S. offices in Dayton, Herndon, Charlottesville and San Antonio. Its subsidiaries include SRCTec, LLC, a manufacturing subsidiary formed in 2006 and located in North Syracuse, as well as SRC Australia, SRC Canada and SRC UK. Kevin Hair is President and CEO.

SRC's radar portfolio covers air surveillance, airborne, counter-UAS, counterfire/weapon location, fire control, ground surveillance and on-the-move missions. Its Lightweight Counter-Mortar Radar (LCMR) family includes the AN/TPQ-49A and AN/TPQ-50A. The Gryphon family is made up of the R1410 multi-domain radar and the R1430/R1440, R1540 and R1810 multi-mission radars. All are lightweight, low-cost, air-cooled 3D active electronically scanned array (AESA) radars used for counter-UAS surveillance and fire control. The SR Hawk radar provides 360-degree surveillance. SRC supplies the Gryphon R1810 for Northrop Grumman's Raid Hunter system.

SRC developed the Low, Slow, Small UAS Integrated Defeat System (LIDS). Its fixed-site version, FS-LIDS, combines the AN/TPQ-50 radar, a counter-sUAS EW system and an EO/IR camera. After the Department of Defense chose SRC technology for its fixed-site counter-UAS solution, the U.S. Army awarded SRC a five-year IDIQ contract worth up to $426 million for FS-LIDS in 2020. In October 2026 SRC won a three-year IDIQ with a $500 million ceiling from Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401) under the Domestic Shield program. The initial $10.24 million order covers one Gryphon R1440 and two R1540 radars, plus integration, installation, training and program support. SRC and Nippon Kaiyo also have a counter-UAS system that has been approved and deployed in Japan.

SRC's EW spectrum-operations products cover counter-IED, counter-ISR, counter-UAS, direction finding, EW-enabled cyber and navigation warfare. They include the CREW Duke counter-RCIED system. SRC maintains the Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming Database (EWIRDB) and builds intelligence collection and analysis systems, EW threat simulators and SOSA-aligned open-architecture systems. Another product, Ghost Mantis, is an EW technology for integration with collaborative combat aircraft that was chosen for a USAF OTA. Outside defense, SRC has carried out environmental and health analysis, including Design for the Environment alternatives assessments for the U.S. EPA. The company holds ISO 9001:2015 registrations across multiple sites and businesses and has won the U.S. Army's Top 10 Inventions award three times since 2004.
