Spirit AI (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. is a Chinese embodied-AI and robotics company founded in January 2024. Its current site presents Hangzhou, at the Alibaba Digital Ecosystem Innovation Park, as its primary location, alongside offices in Beijing's Zhongguancun Software Park and at the Moli Camp AI ecosystem community in Shenzhen.
Spirit AI develops Vision-Language-Action foundation models under the Spirit brand; the Spirit V1.5 release was made open source and led the RoboChallenge global benchmark as of early 2026. Its hardware line includes the Moz1 full-body force-controlled humanoid robot, aimed at manipulation tasks such as folding clothes and precision assembly, and the newer Moz2, shown publicly at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference for handling long-horizon manipulation tasks.
The company has deployed Moz humanoid robots on CATL battery production lines, which it describes as the first large-scale deployment of embodied-AI robots on a battery manufacturing line, and it has also placed robots in JD.com retail settings. Spirit AI has raised multiple funding rounds, including a RMB 600 million Pre-A+ round led by JD.com and a further 280 million dollar round, and industry award programs have named it a China's Future Unicorn.
