"Physical Intelligence for Digital World"
Beijing CAE developer (est. 2014) of the Simdroid multiphysics platform and Sim-PI, a GPU physics-simulation platform for training embodied robot models.
Beijing Simulation World Engine Co., Ltd., which trades as SimWE and is registered in Chinese as Beijing Yundao Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (formerly Beijing Yundao Zhizao Technology Co., Ltd.), is a Chinese developer of industrial physics-simulation software. It was registered in March 2014 at Tsinghua Science Park in Beijing, joined the Zhongguancun Golden Seed programme that year, and has also exhibited internationally as Beijing Internet Based Engineering (IBE). The company now describes itself as a world-model company building industrial physics simulation engines. It reports about 400 full-time employees, roughly 70 percent of them in R&D or technical roles, with five academicians serving as expert advisers. The founder is Qu Kaifeng.
The core product is Simdroid (Futu in Chinese), a general-purpose multiphysics simulation platform first released as version 1.0 in 2017 and updated to Simdroid 6.0 in 2025. Built on it are vertical modules such as Simdroid-EC for electronics thermal management, which the company says ranked first by licence sales revenue in China's 2025 electronics thermal simulation market, and modules for LNG tank design and crystal growth. The company also runs Simapps, a cloud store for simulation apps, and the SimWE online simulation community, and offers simulation consulting. Its engineering software is used in automotive, aerospace, marine and electronics work.
The robotics-relevant line is Sim-PI, which the company calls a physical AI development platform. Sim-PI is built around a GPU-accelerated, natively coupled multiphysics simulation engine combined with generative methods, and is intended to produce scalable, high-fidelity simulation data and a virtual training ground for physical AI under the motto of zero real machines and full simulation. The company positions it for three directions: training and evaluation of embodied models, intelligent operation and control, and industrial intelligent manufacturing. Cases shown on the product page include an embodied robot autonomously picking and placing food, robotic-arm sorting at a line-side warehouse, simulated operation along trained trajectories, precision robotic-arm assembly and visualisation of fingertip contact mechanics; press coverage in March 2026 also showed Sim-PI simulating a robot arm grasping cloth. Case material on the site carries the names of Efort, KUKA, ZTE, Robam and Linkerbot. At the 2026 World Robot Conference the company showed a physical AI simulation training platform for intelligent sorting at automotive line-side warehouses, developed with Efort's Qizhi unit. The company has also said it is preparing a physical AI data marketplace in which robot makers could buy simulation data packs for tasks such as tightening screws and sorting items.
Corporate recognitions listed by the company include national high-tech enterprise status (2015), a postdoctoral research station and participation in building a national digital design and manufacturing innovation centre (2018), Beijing specialised and sophisticated SME status (2020), national Little Giant and Hurun Global Gazelle listings (2022), and Beijing enterprise technology centre status (2024). According to 36Kr, the company raised a strategic round of nearly RMB 300 million from HongShan in 2021, a Series B and B+ in 2022 and 2023, a RMB 700 million Series C in March 2024 led by investors including CCB Trust, Shenzhen Capital Group, Shenzhen Investment Holdings and CMB International, and a Series C+ in October 2024. The company has since converted to a joint-stock company. Headquarters are on floors 1-2 of Block A, Building 5, Zhongguancun Dongsheng International Science Park, Haidian District, Beijing, with offices in Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Xi'an, Chengdu, Wuhan, Guangzhou and Nanjing.
