"Land. Sea. Air."
Finnish C-UAS maker listed on Nasdaq Helsinki (SENSO); its Airfence passive RF system locates drones and pilots, backed by jammers and interceptors.
Sensofusion Plc (Sensofusion Oyj) is a Finnish defence equipment manufacturer specialising in counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS), headquartered at Hakamaenkuja 1 in Vantaa, in the Helsinki region. The company was founded by Tuomas Rasila, who remains Founder-CEO; Timo Ahopelto chairs the board, Maria Alahuhta is CFO and cybersecurity researcher Mikko Hypponen joined in 2025 as Chief Research Officer. Sensofusion describes its mission as defending humans against autonomous weapons and runs a vertically integrated model, keeping research, product development, manufacturing, customer relationships and aftermarket services in-house.
The company listed on Nasdaq Helsinki in October 2026 in one of the largest Helsinki IPOs in two decades. Shares began trading on the pre-list on 9 October and on the regulated main market on 13 October 2026 under the trading code SENSO. The offering, priced at EUR 16.41 per share, raised gross proceeds of about EUR 259 million (about EUR 300 million with the over-allotment option) and left the company with more than 21,800 shareholders. Cornerstone investors Elo, Ilmarinen, OP Fund Management funds and Varma committed about EUR 170 million. For the twelve months to 30 June 2026 Sensofusion reported unaudited revenue of EUR 49.4 million and operating profit of EUR 30.1 million, up from EUR 7.2 million revenue in 2023; headcount reached 111 employees at 30 June 2026. In 2025, 98.5% of revenue came from defence and security authorities and 87.2% from EMEA, with Ukraine accounting for about 7%.
The core product is Airfence, a passive drone detection and response system that gives real-time locations of drones and of their pilots by analysing radio-frequency emissions against an extensive library of drone protocols. Airfence has been used by governmental customers in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia since 2016, and the company says hundreds of systems are in operational use across several conflict zones. The product line includes Airfence 7, the main fixed or deployable system, and Airfence Mini, a pocket-sized portable unit. Reported users include the US Marine Corps, the Government of Ukraine, NASA, European airports and prisons, and a 2025 Finnish export licence covered ten systems for the US Secret Service.
Airfence Military Edition combines detection with countermeasures under the motto 'Detect. Jam. Intercept.' Its portable Asymmetric Jammer delivers 800 W across eight simultaneous channels covering drone ISM bands, GNSS L1/L2/L5 and an adjustable 300-6000 MHz range, targeting hostile UAVs while preserving friendly links; it is priced at around EUR 40,000 with deliveries from Q1 2026. For kinetic defeat Sensofusion offers interceptor drones and a Tactical Drone Factory, a production cell inside a 20-foot container that can build up to 50 interceptor drones per day with a crew of three. Extensions include the KELA high-gain direction-finding antenna, which pushes Airfence detection beyond 10 km, a KELA satellite extension that detects SAR satellite radar signals and alerts operators through the Senso C2 software, an event-camera optical perimeter system for passive detection of non-emitting drones, and integration with active radars.
In spring 2026 Sensofusion acquired Atol Aviation, Finland's only aircraft manufacturer, and grouped its aviation and space work under Sensofusion Aerospace. Its Swift surveillance aircraft, based on the Atol Aurora and built at Halli airport, carries Airfence, signals intelligence and radar sensors and can be operated crewed or uncrewed. The Fennec satellite programme aims to detect weak terrestrial signals from orbit, with Fennec-1 scheduled to launch in autumn 2027.
