Prague, Czech Republic robotics firm RoboTwin s.r.o.; its no-code system turns demonstrated motion into surface-finishing robot programs in about a minute.
RoboTwin, registered as RoboTwin s.r.o. and headquartered in the Karlin district of Prague, Czech Republic, develops a no-code programming system for industrial robots used in surface finishing. The company sells its RoboTeach hardware and companion software rather than acting as a systems integrator itself.
An operator records a work motion by physically guiding the RoboTeach tracking device, and the RoboTwin software converts that recorded path into a robot program, written in the robot's own native language, in about one minute, without CAD models or manual coding. Programming is done off the production line so an existing cell can keep running while a new part is taught. The system works across robot brands including FANUC, ABB, Yaskawa and KUKA, as well as collaborative robot arms. Its main applications are powder coating and wet painting, where the company states its method improves coating consistency and transfer efficiency and lowers operator exposure to spray, and grinding, sanding and polishing of parts.
RoboTwin has received 2.2 million euros in European Union funding, is a winner of the EIC Accelerator program, and is backed by Y Soft Ventures. The company states its system is used by more than 50 industrial manufacturers across Europe and North America and has generated more than 10,000 robot programs to date.
