Robot System Automation
Perignano, Italy automation builder founded 1984; sole Kawasaki robot agent for footwear since 1999, with 1,900+ systems installed worldwide.
Robot System Automation S.r.l. (RSA) is an Italian automation engineering company founded in 1984 by Riccardo Sestini, based in Perignano, in the municipality of Casciana Terme Lari, Province of Pisa, Tuscany. The company builds automated production machinery, beginning with the footwear industry and later extending into other manufacturing sectors.
In 1995, RSA added anthropomorphic articulated-arm robots to its machine designs, and in 1999 it became the sole agent for Kawasaki robots in the footwear market, a relationship that still underlies many of its robotic work cells today. Dedicated lines automate upper stitching, sole application, lasting, heel attaching, finishing, and 3D-scanning-based quality inspection for shoes and leather goods. Outside footwear, RSA engineers palletizing and depalletizing cells, machine tool loading and unloading, injection-press tending, and packaging automation, including for the food and beverage sector. Project work covers feasibility study, mechanical and control system design, fabrication, on-site installation, and commissioning.
RSA has installed more than 1,900 automated systems worldwide and maintains a commercial partnership with Homberger Robotica 4.0. The company exhibits at Simac Tanning Tech and MECSPE, the principal trade fairs for the footwear and manufacturing-technology industries.
