"Robots you can train on the job"
London start-up founded 2025 by ex-Google DeepMind robotics leads; its AI platform lets factory staff teach and correct robots by demonstration.
Reimagine Robotics is a London-based robot software start-up developing an AI platform that lets factory staff train and correct industrial robots on the job without specialist programming. It was founded in April 2025 by Jonathan Scholz (chief executive), Oleg Sushkov (chief technology officer), Akhil Raju and Misha Denil, who previously led Google DeepMind's Applied Robotics team; Scholz built and ran that team in London for seven years. The company reports a presence in both London and Sydney and emerged publicly in August 2026.
The platform's working method is demonstration and correction. An operator shows the robot a task, watches it attempt the work, and corrects it at the point where it fails; the robot's behaviour is then adapted as the process changes, rather than re-programmed by an integrator. Scholz describes the approach as "monkey-see, monkey-do". The company frames the product for production engineers and line workers at small and mid-sized manufacturers where conventional robot programming is too slow or too costly for frequently changing tasks. The robot hardware it runs on has not been named publicly, and no product brand, pricing or licensing model has been published.
Two early deployments have been described. At a made-to-order plastics manufacturer, robots trained with the platform tended 3D printers overnight, removing print beds, operating latches and pressing machine controls; the customer's own team then extended automation to washing, curing and drying stages. In a hard-drive materials recovery project, the company worked with process engineers on a three-robot disassembly cell that was adjusted in real time, and reported that prototyping and testing a new robot behaviour fell from about one day to around ten minutes. Neither customer has been named.
The first phase of the company was backed by pre-seed funding from Fly Ventures, firstminute capital and angel investors, with the amount undisclosed, and the company has said it is seeking a further round. Its official website at reimaginerobotics.ai presents the platform under the line "Robots you can train on the job".
