Randek AB is a Swedish manufacturer of machines and automated production systems for prefabricated and offsite house production. Active since the 1940s and headquartered in Falkenberg, Sweden, it supplies offsite and prefab house manufacturers worldwide through local sales offices in Sweden, the USA (Randek Inc., Norcross, Georgia), the United Kingdom (Randek UK, Swindon) and Australia, plus 11 distributors. Machines are manufactured at plants in Sweden, and all systems are installed, commissioned and tested by Randek's own staff regardless of location. The Falkenberg facility meets most of its energy needs with solar cells, and the company holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.
Randek's robotics development is based at Randek Robotics AB in Arvika, Sweden, which develops the ZeroLabor Robotic System, described by the company as the world's first robotic wall production line. ZeroLabor is a data-driven, configurable system that runs on CAD/CAM project data and can be integrated into an existing production line or run independently. Its modules cover Robotic Sub-Assembly (rough openings, U-studs, L-studs, double and triple studs and noggings, with a pallet buffering system, reload station and sub-assembly worktable); Framing (robotic stud feeder, nogging machine and top and bottom plate buffer station); Sheathing, configurable with two to five robots for multi-layer OSB and plasterboard sheathing with next-sheet placement, router tool changing, a robotic saw, tongue-and-groove capability and separate recycling bins for offcuts; Gluing, which applies adhesive ahead of sheathing; and Insulation for wall, floor and roof elements. The current generation is marketed as ZeroLabor 3.0 and is aimed at plants producing thousands of square metres of elements per week.
Alongside robotics, Randek supplies wall, floor and roof production lines ranging from manual to fully automatic, including the AutoWall and AutoFloor systems; roof truss systems such as the AutoEye Truss System and Truss System NT; cut saws; butterfly tables for turning wall and floor elements; SCM systems for mass timber processing; Colombo electric spindles; and second-hand machinery.
