Iowa maker of hydraulic drawbar hitches that steer planters, sprayers and strip-till rigs to sub-inch accuracy from GPS implement guidance or sensors.
ProTrakker is an implement guidance equipment manufacturer based in Odebolt, Iowa, led by president Cory Miller. Its products are hydraulic hitches that mount between a tractor drawbar and a towed implement and shift the implement sideways under automatic control, so planters, sprayers and strip-till machines stay on the intended line even when the tractor drifts on side slopes or contours.
The hitches act as the actuator in a GPS implement guidance loop. They are compatible with John Deere Active Implement Guidance, Trimble TrueTracker and the MBW Control Box, and the company quotes sub-inch steering accuracy. Besides GPS-active guidance, ProTrakker offers its own control options: SonicTrakk, an ISO VT-compatible ultrasonic control that senses a 2-inch deviation, and a Side-Hill Sensor that detects slope and corrects the implement position. The company lists three hydraulic hitch models with a range of movement of up to 26 inches.
Earlier models include the 500DB hydraulic hitch for higher-horsepower tractors, which added hitch height adjustment, and the WS9000T wide-swing hitch for John Deere 9000T and 9000RT track tractors, with nearly 5 feet of side-to-side travel. A DB Easy Change Drawbar accessory allows the DB hitch to be installed by removing a single pin, and the hitches bolt onto most tractor drawbars with five high-strength bolts. Sales and support run through precision agriculture dealers.
