"Faster picks. Lower cost."
Stavanger, Norway firm founded 2016 building PickrMate gantry picking cells for AutoStore, VLMs and flowracks; robots run at Veso and Spedify.
Pickr.AI is the trading name of Pickr AS, a Norwegian company based at Fabrikkveien 29 in Stavanger that develops robotic order-picking cells for warehouses. It was founded in July 2016 and spent several years developing and testing its technology in live operations before moving into full commercialisation. Roald Valen is chief executive; the management team listed on its website also includes Mats Halvorsen as chief commercial officer and Henrik O. Hovland as chief operating officer, together with product leads for cybernetics and for computer vision.
The product is PickrMate, a modular gantry-based system for robotic item picking and bin handling. The system identifies each item with computer vision, selects a handling approach and moves the item to the next step of the order flow. Pickr offers it in five deployment configurations: working alongside AutoStore cube storage, serving vertical lift modules, connected to conveyor-based material flow, picking from flowracks, or as a self-contained standalone picking cell for sites without existing automation. The company groups its gripping know-how under the Grip Tech name, covering item recognition, grip selection, tool changeover and error recovery, and connected operation. A June 2025 upgrade added a tool changer that lets the robot switch instantly between three custom-designed tools. Integration with warehouse management systems is offered. Pickr states that throughput and gantry dimensions depend on final configuration, installation conditions and order profile, and its website does not give fixed figures in readable form.
Installed robots are given individual names. Benjamin has operated at Veso Apotek, where a video of it in action was produced by LIS. Spedify selected Pickr.AI in July 2025 to enable round-the-clock order picking, and in April 2026 Pickr presented Charlie, its first robot designed to work with AutoStore, at Spedify, describing it as a step toward lights-out order fulfilment there. Wepack chose Pickr.AI in November 2025 for its next generation of order picking.
The company is small. Norwegian business press coverage in December 2021 reported 2020 revenue of NOK 2.7 million with slightly negative EBITDA, an equity raise in December 2020 at a NOK 45 million pre-money valuation, and a plan to raise NOK 15 million to support international expansion, with first robot deliveries then expected in the fourth quarter of 2022. Investors were not named.
