"PerPlant gives tractors the ability to see every plant."
Copenhagen startup making a dual-lens AI camera that mounts on existing tractors in about 30 minutes to map plants and steer spraying and fertilising.
PerPlant is a Danish precision-agriculture startup based in Copenhagen that develops AI camera systems for existing tractors. It was founded in 2022 by CEO Rasmus Emil Hansen and CTO Sumod Nandanwar, who met through Antler's Nordic entrepreneur programme; the underlying technology originated at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The company had 15 employees as of May 2026.
The system consists of a roof-mounted box with a dual-lens camera that can be fitted to a tractor the farmer already owns in as little as 30 minutes. Images are processed on the device at the edge and combined with historical and satellite data to determine where and how much herbicide, fungicide or fertiliser to apply, so the tractor and sprayer act on individual plants rather than whole fields. The company states that the sensors resolve the field at 2 to 10 cm, compared with 10 to 30 m for typical satellite imagery, and the system can switch the sprayer off over groundwater-sensitive areas. PerPlant states that its cameras cut input costs by about 50 percent on average, and published figures for an average Danish farm of about 200 hectares cite a 90 percent reduction in herbicide use and a 30 percent reduction in fertiliser use, with payback within one growing season. The recorded data is also positioned as audit-grade documentation for banks, insurers and EU authorities.
By May 2026 PerPlant reported more than 200,000 hectares of European farmland mapped and commercial deployments in 12 countries: Denmark, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Spain, Ireland and Chile, with the United States named as the next market.
In May 2026 the company announced a EUR 1 million (DKK 7.6 million) seed round led by Agreena chair Jytte Rosenmaj and former Coop Danmark CEO Kraen Ostergaard Nielsen, with existing backers Antler and The Footprint Firm. It has also received non-dilutive funding from Denmark's EIFO, the European Space Agency and Innovation Fund Denmark.
