Perceptive is a Boston, Massachusetts-based dental technology company founded in 2020. Its system comprises three components: Perceptive Imaging for intraoral 3D scanning, Perceptive AI for treatment planning and real-time guidance, and Perceptive Robot for autonomous surgical execution.
The platform targets restorative dentistry, including crown preparation, aiming to complete procedures in approximately 15 minutes compared to the conventional two-visit, multi-hour process. In July 2024, Perceptive announced the completion of the world's first fully automated dental procedure performed on a human using its AI-driven robotic system. The company was backed by Y Combinator and has raised approximately $45 million across multiple funding rounds from investors including Innospark Ventures, KdT Ventures, and Ed Zuckerberg.
