"Connecting mobile robots with factories"
Nord Modules, founded 2018 in Odense, Denmark by MiR co-founder Bruno Hansen, builds top modules that extend mobile robots like the MiR100/MiR200.
Nord Modules A/S is a Danish company based in Odense, Denmark, founded by Bruno Hansen, a co-founder of Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR). The company is part of the Odense Robotic Tech Cluster, known as the Octagon Group, a hub of more than 100 robotics companies in the same city as MiR and Universal Robots. Nord Modules entered the United States market in March 2019, with Hermitage Automation as its first U.S. distributor.
The company designs top modules, mechanical attachments that mount on autonomous mobile robots to extend them beyond simple transport, under a "One System Fits All" approach intended to fit multiple robot platforms with a single module design. Its flagship Top Mover module attaches to the MiR100 and MiR200 platforms, and its gate module line includes the Solid Gate, a fixed pickup point; the Wheel Gate, with manually controlled rollers; and the Roll Gate, a fully motorized module for automated ninety-degree loading and unloading. The lineup also covers lift, conveyor, and pallet-transfer modules for internal load transfer, production logistics, and warehouse automation tasks.
Kenneth B. Henriksen, previously of Purple Robotics and OnRobot, joined Nord Modules as Chief Commercial Officer as the company built out its distribution network beyond Denmark.
