Company Overview

NineRay Technology (brand name NineRay / Jiuguang) develops humanoid robots, collaborative arms and the joints and control systems behind them. The company was founded in September 2023 by Xu Zhigen. Its website lists Hong Kong as headquarters, a smart-factory business group and Tsinghua SIGS research centre in Shenzhen, an R&D centre in Beijing, and an applied-technology R&D and manufacturing centre in Wuhan. The Hong Kong Science Park directory lists the company under the mainland entity Shenzhen Jiuguang Holdings Co., Ltd., and Hong Kong Science Park hosts its regional base. NineRay states that 60% of its team are Tsinghua graduates and 90% work in R&D.

Humanoid roadmap. RayNex G1 validated the body architecture and proprietary joints in January 2025; RayNex G2 (October 2025) brought the body to mass-production readiness; RayNex G3 (June 2026) was launched publicly at Hong Kong Science Park on 17 August 2026. According to the official product page, RayNex G3 is 173 cm tall, weighs 60 kg, has 32 body degrees of freedom and 44 force-control units for whole-body compliant control. It uses self-developed linear and harmonic rotary joints with integrated drive control, frameless torque motors with joint thrust density up to 4,500 N/kg, and an "AIU" integrated computing and control hub. Rated capabilities are a 100 kg deadlift, 80 kg back-load walking, 60 kg dual-arm holding and 30 kg dual-hand operation, with 8 hours of run time and 10,000 hours of joint durability verification. The exterior was designed by Ken Okuyama. The company's AI stack, RayBrain, is described as an end-to-end architecture based on spatial intelligence for navigation, motion control and long task sequences. Target uses named on the site include university research with an open-source SDK, material handling in hazardous plant areas, automated seedling grafting and reagent handling in drug-discovery labs; at launch the founder said food-and-beverage and nuclear-power companies had approached the team.

Other products. The 7-axis ultralight cobot weighs 40 kg, carries 10 kg, reaches 1,750 mm, repeats to +/-0.02 mm and has torque sensors in all seven joints and a 76 mm slim wrist. CineBot X is a camera robot that reproduces professional camera moves (push, pull, pan, dolly, follow, arc, Hitchcock zoom) with template-based automatic shooting and editing for competitions, brand events, landmarks and theme parks.
