Company Overview

NeoteAI is a Shanghai embodied-intelligence company that builds visuo-tactile sensors, a tactile data collection operation and tactile manipulation models for robots. Its registered name is Shanghai Xinzhi Embodied Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., shortened in Chinese media to Xinzhi Embodied. According to 36Kr it was founded in June 2025, and it spun out of Fudan University's Trustworthy Embodied AI Research Institute under a strategic partnership between Fudan and Shanghai's Jing'an District. Its office is in Building B of the Lemon International Center in Yangpu District.

The leadership team named in the company's funding announcement comprises chief executive Zhao Shihao, a Fudan graduate who pursued doctoral study at the University of Hong Kong and previously researched video world models at Microsoft Research Asia and Alibaba's Tongyi Lab; chief scientist Wu Zuxuan, deputy dean of the Fudan institute and formerly at Meta; and chief operating officer Dong Daoguo, who has about 20 years of industry experience, including as chief architect of the Honor Magic 1 phone. The sensor technology was developed mainly by Fudan researcher Chen Wenming and doctoral student Luo Hu.

The InTac sensor line captures contact force, slip, deformation and edge information through a silicone tactile layer imaged by a camera. The standard InTac M1 measures 78 x 37 x 32 mm and 148 g, resolves about 30 micrometres per pixel, senses 0 to 30 N normal and 0 to 10 N shear force with resolution below 0.1 N, and runs at 30 fps. The compact InTac S3 and curved InTac C1 weigh 30 g each, resolve about 20 micrometres per pixel, measure 0 to 10 N normal force with resolution below 0.05 N, and run at up to 180 fps. All output raw video, distributed force maps and 3D force vectors over USB Type-C with Linux and Windows SDKs. The InTac G1 is an integrated electric gripper with a built-in visuo-tactile fingertip, a 0 to 100 mm stroke, 50 N continuous and 80 N peak grip force, plus or minus 0.1 N closed-loop force accuracy and RS-485, CAN, USB or optional EtherCAT interfaces.

On the data side, the company runs a visuo-tactile embodied data collection platform that it describes as nearly 100 workstations operating around the clock, and media report a facility of more than 1,000 square metres. Collection uses RGB-D cameras, tactile modules and force-feedback modules on mainstream robot arms and handheld UMI devices, with force-feedback teleoperation. In July 2026 it published three technical reports with Fudan built on 30,000 hours of tactile data, and on 16 September 2026 it opened NeoData, an online marketplace for visuo-tactile multimodal data. Its N-series models combine vision, touch, language and action (VTLA) with a tactile world model and tactile reinforcement learning, and are being piloted in industrial fine manipulation, including work with Shanghai Electric.

On 27 May 2026 NeoteAI announced an angel round of nearly RMB 100 million, jointly led by Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Group and Fudan Science and Technology, with the group's Ceyuan fund participating. It also cites grant support from Jing'an District, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization and the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. The company exhibited at WAIC 2026 and publishes open-source resources on GitCode.
