Monarch Tractor was an American agricultural technology company founded in 2018 and headquartered in Livermore, California. It developed the MK-V, marketed as the world's first fully electric, driver-optional smart tractor, designed primarily for vineyards, orchards, and specialty crop operations. The MK-V featured 360-degree situational awareness, autonomous row navigation, and could fully charge in under six hours.
Monarch also launched the MonarchOne platform to extend autonomy capabilities to other off-highway vehicles. After facing operational and legal challenges with dealerships, the company wound down in early 2026 and sold its remaining assets and technology to Caterpillar in April 2026.
