Company Overview

MANUS (MANUS Technology Group; legal name Manus Technology Group BV, formerly known as Manus VR) is a Dutch manufacturer of data gloves for high-precision hand and finger tracking, headquartered at Achtseweg Zuid 153R, 5651 GW Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The company positions its gloves for robotics and teleoperation, embodied AI data capture, motion capture (mocap), VR/XR, entertainment, and research and human-computer interaction.

The company was founded in 2014 around the idea of controlling VR games with the hands instead of a game controller; Stephan van den Brink is the founder. In 2015 MANUS took part in the Dutch Startup Bootcamp Demo Day. It released its first development kit gloves (DK1) in 2016 and DK2 VR gloves in 2017. In 2018 it launched the Prime I gloves with haptic feedback and formed partnerships with Xsens and OptiTrack. In 2019 it built its first full-body capture prototype, Polygon. The Prime II gloves, the Xsens Glove by MANUS and a SteamVR Pro Tracker followed in 2020. In 2021 it launched the Prime X series, made Polygon free for the creative community, and opened offices in Germany and the United States while moving its main office within Eindhoven. The Quantum Metagloves, using electromagnetic field (EMF) tracking, arrived in 2022, followed by the Quantum Bodypack and Prime 3 Haptic XR/Mocap gloves in 2023, the Bodypack Lite and Metagloves Pro in 2024, and the Metagloves Pro Haptic in 2025.

The current lineup consists of Metagloves Pro (listed at EUR 4,500), Metagloves Pro Haptic, the legacy Quantum Metagloves (EUR 2,500), the Bodypack Lite accessory and the MANUS Core 3.0 software platform. The Metagloves Pro capture a 25-degree-of-freedom anatomical hand model using EMF tracking, which the company says gives millimeter-level precision without optical occlusion or drift. They have swappable batteries with a charging station for 24/7 operation, a USB-C external power option, a detachable top module that can be moved between glove sizes, persistent calibration profiles and a two-year warranty. The Pro Haptic version adds vibrotactile feedback from actuators embedded in the glove.

For robotics, MANUS Core 3.0 and the SDK stream finger data into ROS 2, Unity, Unreal Engine and OpenXR, which lets the gloves be used for teleoperating robot hands and for recording human demonstration data to train robot learning and vision-language-action models. Other listed integrations include Xsens MVN, OptiTrack Motive, Qualisys QTM, Vicon, Motion Analysis, Nokov, FZMotion, SteamVR, Autodesk Maya, MotionBuilder and 3ds Max, Blender, VRED, ICIDO, PeelCapture and Siemens Teamcenter. A published use case describes Beko Europe using MANUS gloves together with a full-body motion capture suit at RoboCom, the Center on Robot Companions promoted by ARTES 4.0 in Pontedera, Italy, where an operator's hand movements guided a humanoid robot during an evaluation of manufacturing tasks.

MANUS says its products are used by more than 2,000 organizations, including robotics companies, AI research labs, XR developers and motion capture studios. The company has 11-50 employees and raised a Series A round led by Eindhoven Venture Capital Fund II. It exhibited at IEEE IROS 2026 in Pittsburgh (booth 408) and is exhibiting at NVIDIA GTC Berlin in October 2026.
