Mabuchi Motor America Corp. is the North, Central and South American sales subsidiary of Japan's Mabuchi Motor Co., Ltd., headquartered in Troy, Michigan. The Japanese parent, founded in 1954 and based in Matsudo, Chiba, ranks as the world's largest producer of small electric motors by production and sales volume.
Mabuchi designs and manufactures small DC brush motors, brushless DC motors and geared motors organized around three business areas the company calls Mobility, Machinery and Medical. In vehicles, its motors actuate power windows, door locks, mirror adjustment, seats, HVAC dampers, throttle bodies and electronic parking brakes; the same motor platforms also appear in industrial equipment, consumer electronics and medical devices. The America Corp. office provides sales, application engineering and customer support to manufacturers across the Americas, supplying both catalog motors through distributors such as DigiKey and custom motor designs for OEM programs.
The Mabuchi group operates roughly 35 consolidated subsidiaries and about 17,400 employees worldwide, with production and support sites spanning the Americas, Mexico, Germany and Poland, and reported consolidated net sales of approximately 200.4 billion yen for fiscal 2025.
