Lumistar is a Chinese consumer-robotics company selling AI sports-training machines under the TERO and CARRY names, trading internationally through lumistar.ai and the Lumistar Global social accounts.
TERO is a tennis training robot launched on 16 April 2026. Reported figures are an 8.8 kg body, about four hours of high-intensity play per charge and a rated life of up to one million shots, with voice commands, app control and three built-in AI training modes. TERO Pro includes the vision hardware as standard: dual 4K cameras with a 120-degree field of view, analysis of incoming ball speed, trajectory and landing point, a response planned within 0.1 seconds, ball speeds to 140 km/h, maximum range 26 m, maximum ball height of at least 4.2 m, and aiming at 35 court positions, with adjustable speed, spin, interval and shot pattern. Named modes are Rally Mode, AI Match, Random Mode, Rank Up and All Star Game. The base TERO can be upgraded with a separate AI Vision Module. Software includes an NTRP AI rating system and progression-based training plans. The company cites an automotive-grade X5M SoC and a model pre-trained on real-game data.
CARRY is a movable four-camera basketball shooting and training robot of about 35 kg that analyses shooting form and trajectory, tracks multiple players, supports gesture recognition and reports heat maps and accuracy trends through an app. It raised about USD 1.34 million on Kickstarter in July 2026 at a USD 2,399 campaign price, with batch shipments from November 2026.
Lumistar has raised about USD 10 million in early-stage rounds from Oasis Capital and Monolith Management, was incubated by Houxue Capital, and reportedly employs around 100 people. It demonstrated TERO and CARRY at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.
