Lotte Group's construction arm, deploying an autonomous floor-cleaning robot co-developed with TXR Robotics on its Incheon apartment sites since 2026.
Lotte Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. (Lotte E&C) is the construction company of South Korea's Lotte Group. It was founded on 3 February 1959 and is headquartered at 29 Jamwon-ro 14-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul. The company is unlisted; as of September 2025 its largest shareholders were Lotte Chemical (44.02%) and Hotel Lotte (43.30%), with Lotte Aluminum holding 9.51%. It works in housing, building, civil engineering, plant and overseas projects, and markets apartments under brands including Lotte Castle and LE-EL. Lotte E&C built the Lotte World Tower in Seoul, where it used its automatic climbing formwork system (ACS) to speed up high-rise construction. For the second quarter of 2026 it reported operating profit of KRW 122.4 billion, and in August 2026 it won a public redevelopment project in Anyang in a consortium with Hyundai E&C.
Construction robotics and automation. Lotte E&C's R&D Center, established in September 1986, covers super-tall building technology, BIM, hoisting planning, machine systems, curtain walls, accident prevention and IT fusion, and lists technology partners including SOM, ARUP, Stanford University, Leica, IHI and Putzmeister. In July 2026 the company announced that it had deployed an autonomous floor-cleaning robot, developed with TXR Robotics and put through a proof-of-concept before field use, at the Incheon Hyosung District urban development apartment project (Block 4BL). The robot learns the site layout from a pre-loaded map and cleans within a defined work zone, collects general debris and dust, detects workers and obstacles and steers around them, returns to its charger on its own, and has built-in lighting for unattended night operation; Lotte E&C plans to extend its use to completed buildings. In August 2026 it reported using smart non-contact sensors to improve safety management for work at height, and in July 2026 it announced a programme with public agencies to expand collaboration with construction-technology startups.
Lotte E&C does not market robots of its own. Its robotics activity consists of piloting and deploying partner robots and automated systems on its own projects, which places it among contractors adopting robotics rather than among robot suppliers.
