IMSTec GmbH is a family-run manufacturer of customized automation systems and system integrator headquartered in Klein-Winternheim, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Founded around 2004 and operating for approximately 20 years, IMSTec develops fully automated production lines for the medical device, pharmaceutical, precision engineering, and semiconductor industries. The company specializes in the fast, safe, and precise handling of small and very small parts, as well as micro-scale coating in the micrometer range.
Its engineering services span feasibility studies, plant engineering and construction, and regulatory validation support, enabling turnkey delivery from concept through commissioning. IMSTec has more than 130 experts and draws on a cooperative partner network to deliver end-to-end automation solutions. Notable documented applications include automated production processes for cochlear implants and high-speed inline inspection systems.
The company received the Innovation Award of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate in 2007 and was recognized as a Hidden Champion of Rhineland-Palatinate in 2010. In 2012 it received the Technology Premium of the Ministry of Economics Rhineland-Palatinate. IMSTec underwent a new corporate structure in 2022 and opened a second plant (Plant II) in 2023.
The company operates under ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485 quality management standards, with ISO 13485 specifically addressing medical device manufacturing requirements. In 2020, IMSTec also launched a separate product line producing CE-certified FFP2 masks under the brand BlueBec, exclusively manufactured in Germany.
