Wuhan public platform opened in June 2025 to train humanoid robots and collect embodied-AI data in 23 simulated scenes; led by a Hubei state tech investor.
The Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center is a public service platform for the humanoid robot industry in Wuhan, Hubei Province. It opened on 4 June 2025 in the Guanggu (Optics Valley) Digital Economy Industrial Park in the East Lake High-tech Development Zone, and is described in provincial media as the first humanoid robot innovation center in Central China. It was built under the lead of Hubei Science and Technology Investment Group together with academicians Ding Han, Chen Xuedong and Liu Sheng, the Peking University Wuhan Institute of Artificial Intelligence, and local robot companies including Guanggu Huahui and Guanggu Dongzhi. Its Chief Operating Officer is Liu Chuanhou.
The center covers about 12,000 square metres, with more than RMB 200 million invested, and is organised around four functions: an action training ground, a data collection ground, an application practice ground and a talent training base. The practice ground reproduces 23 realistic scenarios such as a home, supermarket, cafe, restaurant, meeting room, industrial line and chemistry laboratory, plus more than ten temporary scenes, in which over a hundred robots train and record data simultaneously. Robots are trained through remote consoles, exoskeleton gloves that map fingertip movements and VR teleoperation, and the center also uses an egocentric data-capture rig that records task data from the robot's point of view without a physical robot, which local media say costs about a third as much as real-robot collection. The center reports output of more than 20,000 valid data entries per day and annual capacity above ten million, and in early 2026 it sold several thousand hours of training data to AgiBot, reported as China's first inter-company humanoid-robot training-data transaction.
The center also acts as an industry hub. An incubator opened in its building with rent-free space for start-ups such as Linggong Technology and Qingtong Vision, a tactile training center is being built with Huaweike, and companies supplying reducers, sensors, controllers, large models and data collection have settled on site. Robots trained there include Guanggu Dongzhi's Photon humanoid and machines from Wuhan Glory Road and Hubei Qiling. In 2026 it led the creation of the Hubei Embodied Intelligence Talent Training Base and hosted the launch of national humanoid robot standards in Optics Valley. It is running a humanoid robot "digital ID" programme: by May 2026 it had completed the first batch of company and product filings and code tests with the MIIT Standardization Technical Committee for Humanoid Robots and Embodied Intelligence, with an identifier made up of country code, company code, product model code and serial number and linked to hardware parameters, intelligence level and operating data such as joint wear and battery status.
The center does not sell its own humanoid robot; its outputs are training services, data sets, testing scenes, incubation and standard-setting work for Hubei's humanoid robot companies.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Teleoperated and egocentric humanoid training data collected in 23 simulated scenes (20,000+ valid entries/day); several thousand hours sold to AgiBot in 2026.
