Haocun Technology, registered as Wuhan Hexacercle Technology Co., Ltd. and marketed internationally as HexaCercle, is a Chinese developer of wearable motion-capture hardware and software headquartered in Wuhan, Hubei province. The company was founded on May 23, 2017 and is based at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology Science Park, in the university's Optics Valley innovation district. Founder Xiong Penghang holds a majority equity stake of roughly 81 percent according to the company's own investment profile.
Haocun's core technology is a wearable motion-sensing system: inertial and MEMS-based angle sensors worn on the body that capture full-body or hand motion in real time and stream it to software for use in virtual reality, robot teleoperation, and digital-avatar applications. Its flagship hardware line is branded MOTCAP. The MOTCAP M11 is a full-body motion capture suit offered in 10, 11, or 13 sensor-node configurations, measuring three-axis rotation across a 360-degree range per joint, with a battery life of at least four hours, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and software development kits for Unity 3D and Unreal Engine 4. The company also sells a wearable gesture-recognition data glove and separately markets a flagship full-body suit configuration with 25 sensor nodes, claimed 0.001-degree measurement precision, roughly 3-millisecond data transmission latency, an 8-hour battery, a 30-meter wireless range, and a 3-minute donning time, positioned as compatible with more than 20 third-party animation, game-engine, and VR/AR software platforms.
The company states its products serve gaming and digital-avatar production, film and virtual production including live virtual streaming, military and police training simulation, cultural-tourism and themed-entertainment installations, general industrial motion analysis, and, more recently, data collection for training humanoid robot movement -- capturing human motion sequences that can be used as reference or imitation-learning data for robot manufacturers. Haocun holds more than 20 registered intellectual-property rights tied to its wearable sensing technology and has been recognized as a national-level high-tech enterprise in China, in addition to placing in the 2019 Optics Valley Startup Star awards and taking second prize in the 2020 Optics Valley 3551 innovation competition.
On the financing side, Haocun raised an undisclosed equity round from Yiwen Fangchuang Investment in January 2019, followed by a Pre-A round in December 2020 backed by China Information Technology and Guanggu Fenghuang Venture Capital, both described as low-single-digit millions of RMB in size; no later financing round has been publicly reported. Beyond its Wuhan headquarters, the company maintains a secondary office in Shenzhen's Baoan district.
