Hunan Gugong Robot Co., Ltd. (Gugong Robot) is a construction robotics company based in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. Founded in December 2020 by Liu Zijing, who has worked on robotics for construction since 2014, with co-founder and CFO Shen Jianhua, the company positions itself as a provider of intelligent installation services for building sites.
Its portfolio, as reported at the time of its angel round, includes a laser layout robot weighing 27 kg that a single operator uses to set out structural positions to within plus or minus 2 mm over a 60 m radius, a precision floor leveling robot the company says saves more than 50 yuan per square metre in material and labour, an upper-limb exoskeleton that provides 3 to 5 kg of assistance per arm, and a flexible reinforcement cage manufacturing line described as replacing 64 manual workers. Applications extend to structural assembly, spray coating and material handling on construction sites, with deployments reported in Changsha, Xiong'an and Suzhou.
The Changsha Intelligent Robot Research Institute, in which Li Zexiang holds a stake, is a founding shareholder, and in 2023 the company raised a multi-million yuan angel round from Chen Zhongping, chairman of Hongyang Home Decoration Group, with Huafeng Capital advising.
