Company Overview

Friendly Robotics, trading under the Robomow brand, is an Israeli manufacturer of robotic lawn mowers founded in 1995 by Udi Peless and Shai Abramson in Even Yehuda, Israel. Originally named Friendly Machines, the company renamed itself Friendly Robotics in 1999 and placed the Robomow consumer brand at the forefront of its marketing in 2005. The company launched its first commercial robotic mower, the Robomow Classic, in 1998, followed by the RL platform in 2000.

Robomow products use a perimeter wire system to define the mowing zone and feature automated base-station docking for battery recharging. In July 2017, MTD Products Inc. completed the acquisition of Friendly Robotics, with the Pardesiya, Israel operations and management team continuing under the MTD umbrella. The Robomow line is sold globally under MTD's Cub Cadet and WOLF-Garten brands as well as the standalone Robomow brand.
