Exyn Technologies, founded in 2014 as a spin-off of the University of Pennsylvania GRASP Laboratory by Nader Elm and Dr. Vijay Kumar, develops autonomous aerial robot systems for complex, GPS-denied environments. Headquartered at 2118 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the company's full-stack solution combines the Nexys modular 3D mapping hardware payload with ExynAI autonomy software and ExynView visualization platform. The Nexys system uses SLAM-based LiDAR to capture real-time colorized 3D point clouds in mines, tunnels, construction sites, and oil and gas facilities.
Exyn's ExynAI SDK enables third-party drone and ground robot integrations. The company achieved Level 4 autonomous exploration on a Boston Dynamics Spot robot with Trimble X7 payload. Exyn ranked #177 on the Inc. 5000 in 2022 and went public on NASDAQ under ticker EXYN in 2026.
Its defense subsidiary, Range, delivers mission-ready autonomy for GPS-denied high-consequence environments.
