Exotrail is a French space propulsion company founded in 2017 by Jean-Luc Maria, Paul Lascombes, David Henri, and Nicolas Heitz, headquartered in Massy, Ile-de-France, France. The company designs and manufactures Hall-effect electric thrusters and full propulsion systems for small satellites ranging from CubeSats to 500 kg smallsats. Its product line includes the ExoMG-nano (1 mN thrust), ExoMG-micro (5 to 10 mN), and the SpaceDrive turnkey propulsion platform.
Hall-effect thrusters achieve 1,000 to 1,500 seconds specific impulse, offering five times greater fuel efficiency than chemical alternatives. Exotrail also develops the SpaceVan orbital transfer vehicle for hosting and repositioning small satellites. With manufacturing facilities in Toulouse and headquarters in Massy, the company employs approximately 200 staff and has raised over 75 million euros from venture capital and public grants including France 2030 Bpifrance funding.
