EnvisionTEC GmbH is a German additive manufacturing company founded in 2002, headquartered in Gladbeck, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The company is credited as one of the original inventors of digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing technology and developed a broad portfolio of photopolymer-based printing systems. At the time of its acquisition it had qualified more than 190 materials for applications spanning dental, medical, jewellery, and industrial sectors, held over 140 issued and pending patents, and served more than 5,000 customers across 68 countries.
In January 2021, Desktop Metal announced its acquisition of EnvisionTEC for approximately $300 million in a cash-plus-stock deal that closed in February 2021. Following Desktop Metal's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in July 2025 and its acquisition by Nano Dimension, EnvisionTEC GmbH and other foreign subsidiaries were sold via private sale order to Anzu for approximately $10 million in 2025.
