The company grew out of the robotics research environment at the University of Southern Denmark and was founded by SDU robotics researcher Lars-Peter Ellekilde, with early backing from Science Ventures Denmark, the university's venture arm, and Copenhagen-based angel investor Per Ibsen.

The company builds Mobile Cobots that combine autonomous mobile robot bases from Mobile Industrial Robots with collaborative arms from Universal Robots, controlled through its own software layer. The ER-FLEX platform supports arm payloads up to 17.5 kg and a base capacity of 186 kg; the heavier ER-MAX handles arm payloads up to 35 kg and a base capacity of 380 kg. Fleet software ER-ABILITY and ER-ORGANIZER manages deployment across units. These systems automate logistics tasks such as machine tending, kitting, picking, and material transport for aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.

Enabled Robotics operates within the Odense Robotics industrial cluster, linking it to regional research institutions and other collaborative-robotics manufacturers in the same city.
