ek robotics GmbH, trading as "ek robotics - a NEURA brand" and legally organized as NEURA Mobile Robots GmbH, makes automated guided vehicles and autonomous mobile robots for intralogistics, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. The company traces its origin to 1963 as E&K Automation, giving it more than 60 years in transport-robotics engineering. Following an insolvency filing in July 2025, driven by legacy-project cost overruns and pricing pressure from Chinese rivals, ek robotics was acquired by NEURA Robotics GmbH in October 2025, which kept more than 300 employees and the ek robotics brand.
The vehicle portfolio spans nine series: BHL MOVE, COMPACT MOVE, CUSTOM MOVE, HEAVY MOVE (up to 35 tonnes), MEDI MOVE (hospital logistics), OUT MOVE (outdoor use), VARIO MOVE, VNA MOVE (narrow aisles) and X MOVE AMR, navigating by laser, natural-feature or inductive guidance, coordinated through Master Controller fleet software. Since 1963, ek robotics has delivered more than 12,000 transport robots and commissioned over 1,500 systems for automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, paper and hospital customers.
ek robotics operates five sites: Hamburg headquarters, Reutlingen, Buckingham (England), Milan and Prague. At LogiMAT 2026 it showed a demo pairing AGV transport vehicles with NEURA Robotics' cognitive humanoid robots for mobile-manipulation tasks such as last-mile handling.
