EGS Automation GmbH is a German industrial robot system integrator headquartered in Donaueschingen, Baden-Württemberg, active since 1996. Founded by Robert Eby, who built the company's first robot-based palletizing system in 1999 on a Yaskawa platform, EGS has grown to a 54-person organization with over 2,400 robot installations across medical, food and beverage, and general industrial markets. The company offers end-to-end automation services — consulting, concept, construction, commissioning, programming, maintenance, and repair — as well as its own SUMO product line: the SUMO standard palletizing platform and the SUMO Fotoplex, a compact bin-picking system with integrated palletizing.
In 2021, Dunkermotoren acquired 100% of EGS Automation, strengthening its industrial drive and automation portfolio.
