dSPECTER (written dSPECTER and romanised in Korean press as Dispector) is a South Korean startup that builds the software and edge computing layer for running patrol, inspection and safety robots in live operations. Its stated aim is to move physical AI from one-off demonstrations to a platform that can be deployed repeatedly, summed up in the tagline One platform. Any robot. Every mission. The company was founded in 2022 and is led by CEO Eum Byeong-chan. According to its own history page it moved its research institute into the Seoul Startup Growth Center at KIST and its headquarters into the KT Pangyo Open Innovation Center in 2025.
The product is a platform called CEREBIX with three layers. CEREBIX CORE is a plug-and-play edge device that runs perception, navigation and task-specific AI models on site with low latency and keeps working when connectivity is unstable. CEREBIX COPILOT is a fleet control system that manages robots of different vendors and form factors through a single interface. CEREBIX APPS are mission applications for equipment patrol (reading gauges, detecting fire, smoke, leaks and gas), security patrol (intrusion, fence damage and night surveillance) and safety monitoring (missing hard hats, falls and smoking). The platform can be deployed in the cloud or on premises, integrates by API with existing control, VMS, FMS, MES and alarm systems, and is pitched for energy and chemical plants, manufacturing and heavy industry, defence and security facilities, construction sites, logistics and large infrastructure, and parks and public facilities.
The company works mainly with quadruped robots. It ran a quadruped perimeter security proof of concept in its first year, and in October 2025 Rainbow Robotics announced a letter of intent with dSPECTER for a quadruped patrol robot business, under which Rainbow Robotics develops, builds and maintains the four-legged platform and dSPECTER develops and operates the solutions and services. Their first joint project is a construction safety management contract from Korea District Heating Corporation at its Suwon eco-friendly energy improvement construction site, where dSPECTER is the main contractor and a Rainbow Robotics quadruped runs 24-hour autonomous patrols; the solution was being customised for stairs and uneven ground ahead of a November 2025 field verification. dSPECTER also lists a non-disclosure agreement with the defence group LIG Nex1 and an MOU with Roas.
Financing has combined small equity rounds with Korean government programmes. The company reports a seed round of about KRW 500 million in 2022, selection for the Deep Tech TIPS programme (KRW 1.5 billion) and a KRW 300 million Korea Credit Guarantee Fund guarantee in 2023, a Pre-A investment of KRW 1.8 billion and selection for Scale-up TIPS (KRW 1.1 billion) in 2024, and a KRW 600 million SME technology innovation R&D project. In 2025 it joined a KRW 2.2 billion multi-agency smart farm technology development package. It holds venture business certification and a corporate robot intelligence research institute certification, and received a TI3 investment technology rating in 2023.
