Vaughan, Ontario drone logistics developer merged with Volatus Aerospace in August 2024; the combined company trades as FLT in Toronto.
Drone Delivery Canada Corp. was a Vaughan, Ontario, Canada developer of automated cargo drone logistics. On August 30, 2024 it completed a merger of equals with Volatus Aerospace Corp., acquiring Volatus through a plan of arrangement and renaming the combined company Volatus Aerospace Inc. The successor keeps its headquarters in Vaughan, is led by chief executive Glen Lynch, and trades as FLT in Toronto and as TAKOF on the OTCQX; the DDC web address redirects to the Volatus site.
Volatus describes itself as a Canadian-controlled aerospace and defence platform supplying uncrewed systems, ISR capability, and aerial operations to governments, defence, and critical infrastructure customers. Its aircraft include a MALE RPAS family, the V100 Viscount for commercial inspection, the V200 Vantage for Arctic, maritime, and border missions, and the V300 Vigil for persistent surveillance, plus the Sentinel drone-in-a-box for autonomous remote inspections and the Condor XL heavy-lift unmanned helicopter for cargo and remote resupply. Services cover asset inspection, geomatics, cargo and medical supply delivery, and emergency response, with BVLOS flights run from an Operations Control Center.
A roughly 53,000 sq ft Mirabel Innovation Centre near Montreal is being built for UAV production in alignment with AS9100 standards.
