Deep Trekker Inc. was founded in 2010 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, with a mission to create portable, affordable, and easy-to-use harsh environment robotic inspection tools. The company is one of the largest underwater ROV manufacturers in the world, designing and building fully submersible remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), submersible drones, and pipe crawling technology for industries including aquaculture, renewable energy, municipal infrastructure, defense and search and rescue. Key products include the REVOLUTION ROV (rotating head assembly for independent camera/sonar/manipulator panning), PIVOT micro-ROV (6 vectored thrusters, swappable batteries), DTG3 ROV (BRIDGE 4K camera technology), DT640 Utility Crawler, and DT320/DT340 pipe crawlers.
Deep Trekker operates a 15,000 sq ft manufacturing and engineering facility in Kitchener. In April 2022, UK technology group Halma plc acquired Deep Trekker for CAD $60 million (~£36M), integrating it into Halma's Environmental and Analysis sector. Deep Trekker continues to operate as a standalone company under Halma ownership.
