"Control the drone to control the threat"
Israeli C-UAS maker whose EnforceAir systems take over rogue drones by RF cyber-takeover and land them in a safe zone, without jamming or kinetic defeat.
D-Fend Solutions AD Ltd. is an Israeli developer and manufacturer of counter-drone (C-UAS) systems built around RF cyber-takeover technology. The company is headquartered at 13 Zarchin Street in Ra'anana, Israel, and operates a North American subsidiary, D-Fend Solutions AD, Inc., in McLean, Virginia, as well as offices in London (D-Fend Solutions AD UK Ltd) and Tokyo (D-Fend Solutions Japan). LinkedIn lists the company as founded in 2017. Its co-founders include Chairman and CEO Zohar Halachmi; Chief Product Officer Yaniv Benbenisti, a former head of the Cyber Access Division in the Israel Defense Forces' 8200 intelligence unit; and Chief Technology Officer Assaf Monsa, a graduate of the Talpiot program who also served in Unit 8200.
The company's core product line is EnforceAir. Instead of jamming radio links or physically intercepting a drone, EnforceAir detects, locates and identifies drones in protected airspace from their radio-frequency communications. It then performs an RF cyber-takeover that lets the operator take control of the aircraft and land it in a predefined safe zone. Because the method is non-kinetic and is designed not to disrupt surrounding communications, D-Fend markets it for airports, stadiums, urban areas and other places where jamming or kinetic defeat is unacceptable. EnforceAir can run autonomously or under manual control. It can be deployed on its own, as one layer of a multilayer defense, or integrated with third-party systems.
The current-generation EnforceAir2 runs on purpose-built cyber-SDR hardware with multiple receivers and transmitters and compact MIMO antennas. D-Fend states a detection range of up to 4.5 km with 360-degree omnidirectional coverage and typical mitigation ranges of 1.2 to 4 km, depending on protocol, line of sight and RF interference. EnforceAir2 comes in tactical, covert-vehicle, military-vehicle, stationary, maritime, long-range directional and backpack configurations, and is sold in separate homeland security/law enforcement and military deployment bundles. The wider portfolio on the company website also includes EnforceAir PLUS, EnforceAir UX, EnforceAir Analytics and the MSC2 command-and-control software, along with training and support services.
D-Fend sells to military and special forces, homeland security agencies, law enforcement, border protection units, airports, prisons, critical infrastructure operators, stadium and event organizers and VIP protection teams. Coverage of its December 2024 financing reported that its technology was deployed in about 30 countries, including Five Eyes, G7 and major NATO members. The same coverage named its users as including U.S. military, federal law enforcement and homeland security agencies. At that time the company reported more than 60 percent year-over-year revenue growth and about 180 employees in Israel and abroad.
In December 2024 D-Fend announced a $31 million financing led by Israel Growth Partners (IGP), with participation from Vertex Ventures and Vertex Growth. The round brought its total funding to about $67 million. The company lists many industry awards, including Security Today Govies awards every year from 2021 to 2026, Army Technology and Airport Technology Excellence Awards (2024 and 2025), Naval Technology Excellence Awards (2024 and 2025), a 2024 Edison Best New Product Award and a 2024 Booz Allen Emerging Innovator recognition.
