"Advanced motion made simple"
Lund, Sweden robot-calibration and motion-control company founded 2013 as a Lund University spin-off; makes CogniCal and the HKM1800 pick-and-place robot.
Cognibotics AB is a Swedish robotics and motion-control company headquartered at Ideon Science Park in Lund. The company was founded in 2013 as a spin-off from the RobotLab research group at the Faculty of Engineering (LTH), Lund University, and operates independently.
Cognibotics' primary product, CogniCal, is a calibration and accuracy-compensation system that corrects for geometric deviation, elastic effects, and payload influence in industrial robots and cobots. The company also develops Juliet, described as a generic robot programming language with low-latency real-time multitasking, running on its Romeo real-time virtual machine. On the hardware side, Cognibotics builds the SigmaTau, a high-accuracy robot for machining large parts positioned between CNC machine tools and conventional articulated-arm robots that supports machining, friction stir welding, laser welding, additive manufacturing, and fiber placement, and the HKM1800, a four-axis high-speed pick-and-place robot co-developed with KEBA with an 1800 mm radial reach and 2 kg nominal payload (7.5 kg maximum) for logistics and packaging lines.
In 2024 Cognibotics raised SEK 60 million in new capital to fund its growth, and it works with industrial robot manufacturers and system integrators across Europe.
Primary type & automation activities this supplier delivers:
Production-proven robot calibration system compensating for geometric deviations, elastic effects, and payload influence to improve accuracy and reduce integration cost.
4-axis high-speed pick-and-place robot with 1800 mm reach achieving over 2000 picks/hour for warehouse and intralogistics automation.
