"WE SIMPLY MAKE MACHINES SMARTER."
Italian maker of HMI, controls, sensors and lighting for off-highway machines since 1949, developing VLN AI vision row guidance for vineyard tractors.
COBO Group (COBO S.p.A.) is an Italian designer and manufacturer of technology components and integrated electronic solutions for machines, headquartered at via Tito Speri 10, 25024 Leno (Brescia), Italy. The company traces its origins to 1949, when its founders developed the Telecambioluce, an early electrical control for switching headlamps between low and high beam. It became a joint-stock company in the 1970s and expanded into agricultural, earthmoving and industrial machinery, later adding CAN-bus products, TFT dashboards and the COBO INTOUCH IoT platform. COBO reports 1,500 employees, 32 product lines, 70,000 finished product codes and customers in 75 countries, with group companies or offices in France, Germany, Romania, the USA, Brazil, Australia, India, China and South-East Asia. Share capital is EUR 10.4 million.
Its portfolio is organized into Driving (seats, steering wheels and columns), Controlling (HMI devices, joysticks, multifunctional armrests, pedals), Informing (programmable displays and instrument clusters), Lighting, Powering (voltage converters, inverters, chargers), Monitoring (cloud), Processing (programmable controllers and connectivity), Sensing (inclination/inertial, angular, linear, distance/speed, pressure and level sensors) and Wiring (relays, Multilink CAN bus, fuse boxes). It serves global OEMs, specialized OEMs and the aftermarket in automotive, agriculture, industrial, earthmoving, emergency vehicles and marine markets. In May 2025 COBO acquired Feelera, an Italian startup with a cloud platform for mapping production chains.
Its autonomy work centers on VLN (Vision Lane Navigation), a retrofit kit for vineyard and orchard tractors that uses AI computer vision and neural networks for automatic guidance within crop rows, working at night and in both directions, with centered or offset tracking, detection of people, animals and obstacles in the lane, tilt alerts, implement recognition and links to the COBO INTOUCH AGRI cloud. COBO states that VLN needs no GPS receivers or ground antennas. Its Robot On Demand concept, which applies AI to make tractors more autonomous, won a New Technology award at Enovitis in Campo 2025.
