Beijing Botsing Technology Co., Ltd. (Boqing Technology) is a Chinese developer and manufacturer of mobile welding robots for large steel structures. It was founded in 2017 by Dr. Feng Xiaobing, who is its chairman, and is headquartered in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. Its core product, a trackless all-position crawling welding robot, was incubated from more than 20 years of research by the team of Academician Pan Jiluan at Tsinghua University and started as a National Natural Science Foundation of China technology-transfer project. The company runs an academician expert workstation with Pan and several Tsinghua professors, plus a post-doctoral research workstation. It has an R&D and process centre in Hefei, Anhui (Anhui Botsing Automation Technology), a manufacturing base in Taizhou, Jiangsu, and an engineering subsidiary, Jiangsu Botsing Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering. It is a national high-tech enterprise and a national-level specialised "Little Giant" SME, and it has led the drafting of national and industry standards for welding automation.
Robots. The robots attach directly to the steel surface and follow the seam with laser tracking, so no rails or guide tracks need to be installed. They can weld in all positions, including vertical and overhead joints. The English catalogue lists:
- BOT-WTA20-122, a 20 kg wheeled crawler (540 x 580 x 255 mm, 50 kg load) with a side-mounted torch and two laser trackers (+/-0.2 mm), for surfaces 800 mm in diameter or larger.
- BOT-WTA20-322, a 36 kg tracked crawler (55 kg load) for horizontal and vertical seams on small and medium storage tanks and hull butt joints.
- BOT-WTA10-421, a 34 kg tracked crawler with a front-mounted torch for vessel heads, spherical tanks and other three-dimensional curved welds.
- BOT-WTA20-123, a further universal model.
- BOT-WTP20-121, an 18 kg pipe-welding robot for pipes 168 mm in diameter and up, for pipe galleries and buried, long-distance and heating pipelines.
- BOT-WM-101 and BOT-WM-102 molten-pool observation sensors (0.6 kg, -15 to +150 C) for MAG, MIG, TIG and laser welding.
The company also describes a wall-climbing welding robot for building steel structures. Its building steel-structure case pages cover frame-column welding in Guangzhou and steel-structure welding for a super-high-rise building in Zhuhai, both cited as work on thick plates at height.
Markets. Botsing serves five fields: oil, gas and chemical (storage and spherical tanks); shipbuilding and offshore equipment; building steel structures; rail transit; and energy and power, including nuclear engineering. In a June 2026 paid press release, the company said it holds nearly 1,000 IP assets, including 38 international patents covering Europe, the UK, the US, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. The release also reported a gold medal at the 2026 International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva and plans to bring the robot to Europe. Chinese financial media reported in June 2026 that a welding-specific large AI model from the company had completed national generative-AI filing.
Funding. Investors reported by Dealroom and CB Insights include JC Capital, E-Town Capital, GSR United Capital, Woyan Capital, Hefei Innovation Investment, CITIC Securities, CPE and GoldStone Investment. Sinopec Capital made a strategic investment in March 2024, and CB Insights lists the latest round as Series B-II.
