The company, now Bonfiglioli Riduttori S.p.A. and led since 2010 by Sonia Bonfiglioli, is headquartered at Via Clementino Bonfiglioli 1, 40012 Calderara di Reno (BO), Italy, with a major U.S. office at 3541 Hargrave Drive, Hebron, Kentucky, handling assembly, sales, and aftersales support. Bonfiglioli designs and manufactures industrial gearmotors, precision planetary gearboxes, inverters and servo drives, and specialized travel, slew, and winch drives serving the industrial automation, mobile machinery, and renewable energy sectors. Key acquisitions shaped its technology base: Vectron Elektronik GmbH in 2001 brought inverter drive and mechatronics expertise, while O&K Antriebstechnik, acquired in 2015-2016, added mobile and mining equipment drive systems. The group surpassed 1 billion euros in annual revenue in 2021 and today operates roughly 5,000 employees across 24 commercial sites and 18 production sites, distributing through about 550 partners in 80 countries. In 2026, marking its 70th anniversary, Bonfiglioli introduced BlueRoll, a dedicated drive platform for automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) used in warehouse and intralogistics automation. BlueRoll spans three gearmotor sizes rated for loads of 360 kg, 720 kg, and 1,020 kg, reaching speeds up to 2 m/s using permanent magnet synchronous motors, and is offered in Basic (wheel-mounted TQW series), Advanced (compact servo gearmotor), and Compact (25 percent shorter, thermally optimized) variants with configurable feedback and safety encoder options. The platform addresses growing demand from mobile robot integrators for compact, high-power-density drive units that can be embedded directly into AGV and AMR chassis without extensive re-engineering. Bonfiglioli received an EcoVadis Silver Medal for sustainability performance in 2025 and continues to supply drive components across gearmotors, industrial automation, and mobile robotics markets worldwide.
